Kevin A. Lane

Kevin joins our team with over 30 years of experience with insurance coverage cases. While he previously focused on representing insurers, his focus is now exclusively on the representation of insureds and plaintiffs. He handles all aspects of cases where coverage is in dispute and frequently serves as a confidential resource to attorneys whose own practice and expertise lies in the personal injury realm.

Kevin has shared his knowledge and thoughts through many continuing education programs. He is the founder of the Buffalo Claims Association’s Educational Seminars Day program. He has served as the chairperson of the Continuing Education of the Torts, Insurance, and Compensation Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He is the founding chairperson of it’s Insurance Coverage Committee. He has served as the state-wide coordinator of programs on both Insurance Law topics as well as Construction Site Injuries and Third – Party Practice. He has lectured across New York numerous times on those subjects. He also generates a complimentary Periodic emailed newsletter on recent decisions relevant to Insurance Coverage and Personal Injury cases in New York. Kevin followed a different path than most to get in the practice of law. He obtained his B.S. degree from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and did graduate work in population biology before working for Cornell Cooperative Extension for several years. He graduated magna cum laude from New England Law and clerked at the Third Department of the Supreme Court of the State of New York before entering private practice in 1986. He is an avid hiker and together with a childhood friend is nearing completion of the Appalachian Trail. 

Kevin carries and “AV” rating from Martindale Hubbell and is rated as a Super Lawyer in upstate New York.
